Salmon Ala Plancha
 

Zesty Plancha-Seared Salmon

This tasty recipe is low in fat and because you’re searing on a plancha. In addition, you won’t need traditional cedar boards (or time to soak them), to hold the meat together. Simply season, cook according to the directions, pair with a favorite side and enjoy!
 

PREPARATION - 15 minutes
COOKING - 20 minutes or more
SERVINGS - 4

Ingredients

Fresh Parsley, chopped 1 tbsp.
Fresh Dill, chopped 1 tbsp.
Fresh Coriander, chopped 1 tbsp.
Fresh Chives, chopped 1 tbsp.
Lemons - zest and juice 1
Lemons, cut in half 2
Salmon Filets 4
Salt & freshly ground Pepper To taste
Cooking Oil 2 tbsp.

Directions

  1. In a wide, shallow bowl, mix together the parsley, dill, coriander, chives and the lemon zest and juice.
  2. Season the fillets with salt and pepper.
  3. Cut a few notches on the skin side of the fillets.
  4. Dip each fillet into the bowl, coating with the herb mix, pressing well to make the herbs penetrate the fillet.
  5. Place on a plate and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove fish from fridge and preheat the plancha to medium heat.
  7. Before adding the salmon fillets, lightly oil the enameled cast iron plate.
  8. Place the salmon fillets on the cooking surface.
  9. Sear-grill the salmon for 20 to 25 minutes, adjusting temp as needed.
  10. Serve the cooked salmon with lemon halves and a salad or a green vegetable sautéed in butter.
